Caitlin's Birth Story

Image
C turned 2 months old last week and as cliche as it sounds, time really passes too quickly! I will be back at work very soon, and I don't even think I am ready. Anyway, before memories become a blur, here's number 2's birth story. C was born at exactly 37 weeks, 2 weeks earlier than the experience with J. However, it wasn't unexpected as she was in the "head down" position as early as the 25th week, and was almost fully engaged at our 35th week obgyn visit.

7 Tips on surviving Kidzania Singapore

Image
#kidzania #kidzaniasg #funinsg We made it to Kidzania Singapore last Friday, and as expected, the boy had a blast.  We have never been to any other Kidzanias in the world, but we have been to BabyBoss in Taipei (which he absolutely loved) and the rather quiet Cosmic Kidland in Penang and we just knew Kidzania will be a hit with this boy so much so, we are in the midst of planning our visit to Kidzania Bangkok in June. Absolute look of joy at the entrance of the Kidzania Singapore. He says, "I am super excited Mummy!!"

Week in life of a blogging mum

Image
I started blogging more than 10 years ago, more to rant about daily ups and downs. Basically things that got me riled up and when I need an avenue to let it all out.  Then, it progressed to using the blog and different networks to help me do my day job as a marketer better, till I became a mother. This space slowly turned into our trove of memories.  We had a difficult time conceiving J, and he will likely be our only child. Hence, it is understandable that we want to create as much memories as we can so he is able to refer to this when he is older.   So. How do I keep up with all the recording?

Friso: Experience More Together

Image
[Sponsored] Most of you, my followers know that I am a huge advocate of outdoor play. Due to our busy schedules, the amount of time the man and I have with the kid is limited. So we try to always make sure we are out and about during family time. However, going outdoors isn't always possible for many reasons. Like the recent haze for example, and times when I get really lazy and just want to lounge around at home in my PJs and messy hair. At times like these, it helps to have fun stuff to keep us occupied as a family at home. This came quite late at night. I was actually very excited, so much so that I wanted to wake the boy up. I know he would be thrilled because he has been asking for a slide at home when he saw one at his cousin's house.

5 tips on how to survive a "Super Fun Dae"

Image
We were at Aviva Superfundae last Saturday! Before I begin, can I just say I am slightly biased towards the event since it was sponsored by my ex-employer. And, being at the event, soaking in the sea of yellow brings back so many good memories. The yellow days of fun as I call it!

A minimalist 2015

Image
When we made the decision to embark on the inevitable IVF journey in 2015 , we knew at the back of our minds that we needed to make some changes to how we lived our lives. Honestly, I don't know if I am physically prepared for the journey.  Always stressing over work, and harbouring the mummy's guilt , plus the many other things on my to do list, it does seem l impossible for my already weak physique to go through the quest. Something needs to give so that stress of any form does not consume us.

In Conversation #5: Hypnotherapy for kids

Image
"Hypnotherapy can help kids overcome behavioral changes" Before I delve into today's "In Conversation", I just wanted to say that my blog is not just about mummies and stuff. More often than not, the experiences I share here are The Man and my parenting experience. Just that The Man prefers not to make any writing appearance on the blog. Oh well. Having said that, I will be speaking with fathers as part of the my "In Conversation" series. The parenting perspective from dads can be helpful for us mums to take a leaf from. Yes?  Today, I am extremely excited to have Samuel Tan, single dad to a Primary 2 girl who interestingly is also certified in hypnotherapy!  Read on to find out why he took up the discipline, and what he uses it for.

Packaged Tours with toddlers

Image
Packaged tour with toddlers isn't so scary after all! Whenever we travel as a couple, we will do everything ourselves. From booking of our air tickets, to searching for boutique hotels, and planning the itinerary in detail. I enjoy every bit of holiday planning as that means there is something to look forward to. When we started to take our mothers out on holidays, we tried doing the planning as well. But, there will be things we want to see that does not interest them and vice versa.

Staycation at Amara Sanctuary Resort, Sentosa

Image
Before we had J, we always try to do something special on our birthdays, which usually ends up to be a short trip to some nearby destination. This year, we thought we should start exploring staycations. Relatively fuss free and we can spend quality time as a family of 3 exploring Singapore from the eyes of our 2 year old.

We all survived

Image
Looks like all three of us survived my 5 days away from the boys.  It really ain't that difficult I suppose, although both the big boy and the little man fell sick right after I stepped out of the country.  I think it was really sweet that the Hubs and my mum decided to keep the fact that the boy had a HFMD scare so I can focus at work. I sure needed it. Other than a major presentation I had to prepare for, I wasn't quite prepared for how difficult the meeting was going to be. Let's just say I needed more than a little culture adjustment.  Ah... but all's well ends well, and I am full up with all the yummy food I have been fed with. So diet here I come for the rest of the week before CNY hits us.  I am not sure if I can do this work travel anytime soon, and I wonder how do these frequent flyers manage. I was exhuasted by the time I landed in Singapore. I could do with a full day's of sleep, only that my mothering duties had to take precedence.

Photo Heart Fridays - Buddies They Will Always Be

Always love how these two can stay on the couch for a good part of a lazy morning. Buddies they will be for life.
