4 reasons to have a staycation at Pan Pacific Singapore

Orchard may be the shopping belt of sunny Singapore, but if I get to choose a staycation in town, I will steer towards choosing the City Hall or Suntec area because of the family fun options at there.

We did just that in February for a quick weekend recharge, and after going through prices and monitoring them over a couple of weeks, I picked Pan Pacific at the Marina Bay area, and after just one night there, I am convinced Pan Pacific could be nicely placed for a family staycation, just to spend quality time with one another.

Family here obviously refers to those with young kids of J's age. My definition of family.

Here's my reasons why I think Pan Pacific Singapore makes a good getaway for you and your family.

1) Breakfast at The Edge

I am starting with my personal favourite reason. Food!

I have always enjoyed the food at The Edge. Whether it is breakfast or lunch. They have a wide variety of quality dishes that's suitable for different taste buds, and I am quite sure everyone will find their favourites.

I also like the abundant sunlight that pours into the dining hall! I always feel that breakfast should be enjoyed with the warmth of the sun and this is great because there's air-conditioning too!

2) Close proximity to 2 shopping malls

Pan Pacific is directly linked to Marina Square, and Suntec City Mall is just an overhead bridge away. Other than shopping and hanging around with the limitless food choices, there's also a number of indoor playgrounds for the kiddos to expend their energy, namely Cool de Sac and The Polliwogs at Suntec, and Pororo Park at Marina Square.

There's probably enough fun to last you for more than a one night staycation.

3) Option to be a tourist in your own country

Well, if you are keen to explore further away from the hotel, the Esplanade is a short walk away. There's often activities and shows at the Esplanade that's suitable for young families, not forgetting PIP's playbox for the kids to wander around. Not forgetting if you are craving for Singapore hawker food, there's always Gluttons by the Bay.

A longer stroll away, there's also Marina Bay sands and the myriad of activities available such as spending an afternoon at the Art Science Museum.

4) Chilling and enjoying the facilities in the hotel

Some of you may say a staycation is really for kicking back and enjoying the facilities we pay for at the hotel. Fret not, Pan Pacific has facilities to keep the whole family occupied. Relax by the pool with bar facilities while the kid splashes around the wading pool.

I was pretty amazed with the herb garden they had behind the pool. We spent some time chasing butterflies and answering J's question of "What is this plant mummy?" and " How about this mummy?".

And if these are not enough, the hotel also has a small playground tucked in a little corner near the tennis courts suitable for toddlers.

If all else fails, do what J does.

He sat there for 4 hours putting his Lego together!

So, if you are thinking of where to next have a staycation, perhaps you can consider Pan Pacific Singapore!
