The King & I... and my latest craze

The show was a blast. Enjoyed every bit of it, especially the costumes. The traditional Thai ones were so intricately made which brought out true Thai flavour of the show. ***Sings*** “ Getting to know you… getting to know all about u… getting to like you… getting to like what I see….Haven’t you noticed… lalalalal lala lala…. “ Hiah! I so wanna watch it again. If it ever comes to Singapore again. Dunno when that’ll be. The humour injected into the show, made every minute watching it even more delightful. Guess the only down side was…. Cheapo me… din wanna spend too much on the tickets. So took the $40 ones which had restricted view. So I was straining my neck and back just to see what’s going on. This is the first time I am watching a musical like this. This teaches me never to compromise just because I wanted to cheaper seat. Hee Hee! In any case, the show was GOOD! _______________________________________________________________ Was out with Bestie last Saturday. Went to LV, Gucci, Co

Beautiful Sunday

Will be watching " The King & I" later. Years ago, I told myself I must treat myself to at least one broadway musical every year. Which I did, and I have always gone with Addy. So this year should be no exception. However, decided to bring Hwa alongsince he has never gone for one before. And, guess Addy will be busy with her ROM and stuff. Hee. I think Hwa will like it. :)

And I thought I was done with it!

Road shows. Deployments. That’s what I am talking about. And I thought, after I said my good byes, I will not be involved again. I cannot be more wrong! Hiah…. It’s my life. What more can I say? Anyway… I am going talk about food… Oh Glorious Food! Went to Ethan’s for lunch on monday afternoon. It is a sausage place at the basement of Chevron’s House (former Caltex House). Their sausages are HUGE… and Juicy too! We tried 5 different kinds… the cheesy chicken, the normal pork one, the cheesy pork one, the spicy Italian one… and the Beer Bratwurst (did I get the spelling right?). I like the beer one. Not too salty, and the taste of beer gives the sausage a little bitterness. Makes you salivate and wanting ask for more. We ordered the rosti too. A little on the oily side. But what’s a little oil yah?! Good food is hard to come by. Enjoy while we can! Esp for a sausage lover like me. Hee! Ohh… guess what I found out? My replacement at S_ _ _A is an Assistant Manager. And apparently, the pe

It is 10.31pm on a Sunday night. Am sitting here, not knowing what to feel of the next day ahead. The feeling of helplessness is slowing sinking in. I took the risk, so I have to push on. I was determined, and I must continue to be.

A Peaceful Week

Managed to score a few firsts this week. As you all probably already know, this week marks my first week at my new working place. First day was fine…. Not WOW…. Basically cos my boss is still on MC…. for another good 3 weeks. She only left me some files to read… hoping I can get by the next 3 weeks without feeling bored! Oh well! But…. There really isn’t many files to go through lor….cos my job function is a brand new one. Nothing much has been done till date…. so I spent the rest of the week working…AND RE-working my proposal on what I hope to achieve in this position. Haha! Thank goodness for inputs from some more senior colleagues… I was able to produce a “meaty” plan… well… at least it looks “meaty” to me lah! Friday was so much better, coz Big Boss started to tell me the other stuff i am expected to follow-up with.... so i will be busy from next week. Yay! Finally! Colleagues are fine as well….. Not WOW too…. Not the over chatty species found in the M’ship Office @ S_ _ _A…Neither

Colleagues turned Friends.... :)

The Final Count Down...

Friday's my last day at S_ _ _A. Been staying back to finish up all outstanding work. It is only when one is leaving, that one realises how many things we have done and acheived during our stay with the company. Stuff which seems so trivial, becomes important to pass on to the next person. This proves how comfortable I was, that every task comes like a breeze to me. :) Having mixed feelings about leaving. I know I will miss the people, as much as frustrations kick in once in a while due to the various reasons we all already know (esp. to those who follow my blog). But work here has been quite stagnant.... not been learning much... and no motivation AT ALL... So...guess a change is really what I need. Something to get me sit up and BE interested again. Challenges are coming up at my new place.... but dun know how I can take it... coz i BADLY need a break. The idea of having to start a brand new job right after leaving the old one is not exactly my way to a new start. Not much of

4 down, 6 more to go. This is not including those I have to attend with Hwa. Everyone’s getting married, which means we are all getting old. Haha! Last Sunday's was at Shangri-La. The invite stated dresscode: Formal. I looked at it and pondered for quite a while. I was unable to make out what formal really meant. Din want to turn up neither under-dressed nor overdressed. It didn’t help when I wasn’t feeling sociable last evening. Anyways… appeared in a green and white ensemble. Not too casual… but good enough for a wedding I thought. But alas… just like what I feared… I was underdressed. People were in gowns and bow-ties! **Faintzz** Good thing, the rest of the peops at my table were underdressed too! So din feel all that awkward after all. It has been some time since I met up with the ACJC council people. While in school, I was one of the quieter ones (I think I was! hahah), and I never really liked to hang around the rest of the council people. In fact I try to avoid them. Just h

The day started at 7.30am, where I made my way to the ICA building to collect my new biometric passport. Was expecting a crowd since it is their usual peak period.... however, what greeted me was, snakes of people.... queuing JUST to get into the building. It took a good 10 to 15 minutes before i set foot in the building. Haven't been to the immigration place for ages.... but the last time I was there.... I dun recall having such strict controls on how people enter and leave the building. The senario was exactly like how it was featured on The Straits Times last week. Anyway, once inside, I mentally prepared myself for a long wait. But guess what..... I was served in 10min, despite the fact that when I got the queue number, there were close to 70 peops in queue. Counter ladies were working their hearts out... and what makes all these happen is probably a carefully thought through service process. Kudos to everyone at ICA & Immigrations. They truly showed people what efficiency
