Our royal fussiness

I finally got down to writing my first letter to our precious boy. Thanks to all the other mummies who have religiously done this, inspiring me to start  my our own letters to document Jonas' development. So here goes for instalment 1. Dear Jonas, You turned 6 weeks old last weekend, and it was probably the longest 1.5 months for Papee & Mummy. You gave Mummy such an easy time when you were in my tummy, and we thought that's going to continue when you arrive. We guess you are now having the last laugh while Papee and Mummy are still trying to suss you out. At week 1 , we thought you were the cutest thing on earth. Mummy had loads of energy and spent almost every waking hour just looking at you. We felt really thankful for you, the most amazing gift we have received in our marriage. You were so easy to care for. We hardly heard you cry... you waited to be fed, loved to bath and went to sleep as and when we wanted you to. Perfect, we thought! Then came week 2 when you d

Resolution for the next 6 weeks

I am due back to the office in six weeks time. So while Jonas is snoozing away on this hot arvo, I thought why not "un-vaccum pack" my pre-pregnancy clothes and see if they all fit.  On hindsight... what was I thinking?! Did i seriously think with 7kg more to lose, I can fit into my favourite frocks and pencil skirts?! Oh well... without a doubt, i started getting all whiny to Hwa over whatsapp on how fat and ugly I am now.... and what if the 7kg does not want to barge and is here to stay! Kudos to the man who was patient enough to reassure me, and even called me over lunch to provide whatever comfort he could to me. Anyway... since this is the first time in my life where my BMI says "overweight" , I am pretty anxious to get rid of the extra kilos.... hence I have resolved to start an exercise regime from next week, with the man, provided our plans does not get hijacked by the little terror who till this day still throws us curve balls, when we thought we had him

Postpartum in review

How time flies. It's been a month since Jonas came into our lives. It wasn't an easy one month, and there will definitely be more to come. To be absolutely honest, I am sorely missing the pre-Jonas days as having a little one really changes everything... and i mean EVERYTHING!!! Not only the amount and quality of sleep we get, to how we go about handling chores at home... and also the relationships we have with the grandparents. All of a sudden, writing strategy papers, working till late in the night, handling difficult agencies and stakeholders seem all too simple. First few days was a bliss. It was parenthood the way I have always envisaged it to be... simple to handle baby, abundant breastmilk, loving husband and supportive grandparents. What I didn't foresee was all these soon changed, and gradually took a toll on me. I insisted to do a lot of things myself, from exclusively looking after Jonas at night, to wanting to do my own and Jonas' laundry and making sure

Found another great BB Cream - Vitamin Science

Image
I have recently been introduced to this brand of skincare products from Korea - Vitamin Science. The products from Vitamin Science actually makes use of a range of  pure vitamins that helps bring about visible improvements to ones skin after a couple of weeks. What attracted me to their products was that it was developed with people who have sensitive skin in mind. Just the type of product I think would suit me well. I started with their Vita Advanced Whitening Multi BB Cream. Texture of the BB Cream was slightly thicker than those I have tried , however, it was still light to apply on. What's best is, the cream is very easily absorbed into the skin, leaving me with a very healthy glow. I have used this for a couple of weeks, and so far no signs of breakout! So.. here's yet another BB Cream that is suitable for peops like me with ultra dry, yet easy to break out skin. I am now trying Vita Advanced Whitening One Step Cleanser and their Vita Advances Whitening Multi Facial Gel

Goodbye Belly, Hello Baby - Part 2

Wanted to have "final" thoughts recorded before I disappear from this blog for some time.... yes i do foresee I may not have the time to blog when Beanie comes. 1) It was my last day @ work today. Quite a relieve actually. While I had initially wanted to work till the day Beanie arrives, the past few days was rather challenging.  The weight bearing down on my pelvis, the constant need to relieve myself, the daily bouts of diarrhea and the punishing weather makes me wanna just stay home and await the arrival of my precious little hwa. 2) I don't quite care that I am wasting at least a week of my maternity leave. I just need all the sleep and rest I deserve before I attempt to be a mother, a wife and a daugther. Let's talk about being a marketer in August. 3) To everyone who thinks I am such a cool mum even before the baby is here... "Thanks!". I have absolutely no idea why I am not nervous. Yes, this is my first pregnancy... and maybe because it is, and I

No no no.... I have not popped. But being in my 39th week, i guess it will happen anytime now although Beanie does not seem to be in a hurry. Not sure if I should be proud of myself for creating such a cozy enviroment for him in my belly... or get worried that he will be late. Since I will soon say goodbye to my belly... i thought a last pic of my bump should enjoy a space here. The final countdown begins.....

Loving my Galaxy S2...lalalala

Image
This post is actually overdue. Well... after my entry on which new phone I should get , Hwa went out to renew his already expired mobile contract and got me a white Samsung Galaxy SII, when he is still using his really old iPhone 3G.  How sweet is that?! Ok, as mentioned before, I am no professional tech person who can write a superb review on mobile phones... but here's what i like on the S2: I love the 4.3 inch display and super clear resolution. It made my BB torch pale in comparison. It's 8MP camera, and the various free photography apps makes photosharing so much easier now. Love how I can quickly prettify the piccies I take on the go. With this, I can't wait for birth of Beanie, where I can snap non-stop and share them instantly with all of you. While I thought Samsung and Andriod's interface was easy to navigate around, I had friends who begged to differ. They felt that Apple was more user friendly, and works well with non-techy people like them. Actually, I
